One of the most misunderstood verses in the Bible is "Vengeance is mine, thus sayeth the Lord." We think of that as God saying he gets to have the enjoyment of retribution. But really, He's saying He'll take the burden of it off of us, so that we can live a life of love, joy, and peace.
